Wednesday, March 13 is Senior Day at the State Capitol, when legislators, elected officials and sponsors are on hand to discuss programs and legislation affecting older adults. The day begins with continental breakfast followed by programming until 12:30 p.m. This year, the entire event is held across the street from the Capitol at the Scottish Rites Masonic Center (1370 Grant St.). Organizers opted to use the Masonic Center so there is plenty of room for everyone to be comfortably seated.
The Governor and Lt Governor are invited along with legislators. A panel of thought leaders in the areas of mobility and health care will focus on some of the changes coming that may benefit older Coloradans in the 2020’s, including developing technologies for older adults, and potential impacts on future legislation.
The event is organized by the non-profit, non-political Colorado Senior Lobby, which advocates for responsible legislation and effective regulations and administrative guidelines to positively affect the quality of life of all Colorado older citizens.
Tickets are $10 and may be purchased here. Those who don’t want to or can’t attend may watch Senior Day via a live stream for FREE on the CSL YouTube channel. For more information, call 303-832-4535.
