Tiny Tots Inside the Orchestra has been introducing children age 6 and under to orchestral music for a more than quarter of a century. Children “inside” the orchestra are literally surrounded by professional musicians who play familiar melodies. It’s an unforgettable experience for little ones. During the 45-minute program, children are encouraged to respond to different elements of the music, from thinking about how music makes them feel to getting on their feet and moving.
They are treated to up-close-and-personal demos by various instruments, introduced to musical concepts, emotional understanding of the arts, and artistic expression. The music selection, design, and scripting of Tiny Tots is geared to connect very young children with music – physically, emotionally, and mentally.
Children are also encouraged to take a closer look at the instruments and ask questions of the musicians after the concert has concluded. Every Tiny Tots event includes guest performers from cultural partner organizations.
Typically performances start at 9:30 a.m. and repeat at 10:45 a.m. at each location. Admission is $9.95 for anyone over the age of one. Discounted and even free tickets are available to those in need. No one is turned away. Buy tickets online or at the door, but do know that spaces fill quickly.
