Kwanzaa is a seven-day holiday that celebrates Family, Community and Culture. The word “Kwanzaa” comes from the Swahili phrase “matunda ya kwanza,” meaning “first fruits.” Kwanzaa begins on December 26 and ends on January 1. Each of the seven days signifies one of seven principles of African heritage. Experience this cross-cultural tradition with music, dance and refreshments at various venues.
