Sparks may fly if you check out this event. At Ignite Denver people give talks (called “sparks”) about five minutes long on any topic. For instance: an idea to help the community, a story, teaching a hobby, sharing a passion. Each presentation includes 20 slides that auto-advance every 15 seconds, making for a fast-paced, fun and informative evening. Typically around 20 people submit a spark, which is voted on by the community and 12 to 15 take the stage to speak. Ignite Denver 23 is Thursday, June 30 at the Oriental Theater. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. running until about 10 p.m. There will be 13 speakers and you can view the full list of topics here. Tickets are $10, but if you buy them in advance by June 17, the Early Bird pricing is $5 ($3 for students). This is an all ages show. If you want to expose your children to presentations about anything from sleep deprivation to cultural differences in Western and Eastern societies, bring them. Also, if you want them to learn adult words at an early age, this is a good place to do that. If not, then bring your “earmuffs” or get a sitter and have a night out. 4335 W. 44th Ave., Denver.
