Pooches of all shapes and sizes will vie for prizes at two shows this weekend. The Colorado Kennel Club’s Dog Days of Denver runs Thursday to Monday, February 16 to 20 from 8 a.m. (doors open at 7:30 a.m.) to about 8 p.m. at the National Western Complex. Hundreds of dogs will compete each day in conformation (that’s like the Westminster Show), obedience, agility and rally. Plus “Meet the Breed” sessions and a Hall of Education will help potential owners find just the canine match. Parking costs $10, so carpool if you can. National Western Complex/Event Center, 4655 Humboldt St., Denver.
The Plum Creek Kennel Club Classic is Thursday to Saturday, February 16 to 18 at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds. Dogs will compete in conformation, obedience and rally. Show hours are 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. 25690 E. Quincy Ave., Aurora.
