If you’re old enough, you might remember the days when blockbusters played on network television. It was a big night for the whole family to gather ’round the tube and watch a major movie on a minor screen. For many, it was a special event — something you looked forward to all week. Nowadays, you want can watch anything, anywhere and on a multitude of devices, so the allure of watching a movie on regular ol’ network television isn’t as quite exciting.
However, CBS is bringing back the special event, in the hopes of brining families together to watch an iconic blockbuster. Every Sunday night in May, the network is bringing back the TV special, Sunday Night at the Movies.
Even better, it’s all FREE — no need for a subscription, no need to login and no need for a special link. Just pop some popcorn, get comfy on the couch, turn on the TV and you’re ready-to-go.
Here in Denver, the show plays at 7 p.m. on Channel 4.
Here’s the schedule:
May 3 – Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark May 10 – Forrest Gump May 17 – Mission: Impossible
May 24 – Titanic
May 31 – Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
