We know that the Central City Opera summer season is several months down the calendar, but tickets for the super-affordable family matinee in the tiny jewel of a theater sell out fast. Introduce your kids (and yourself) to opera at a special matinee performance of “Carmen” on Tuesday, August 1 at 2:30 p.m. This fully staged production performed by the talented artists of the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation Artists Training Program in Central City includes a narrator’s preview and an autograph session with the singers. Tickets are currently $20 each, but prices can change. If you ae concerned about the content, check the synopsis.
An additional $10 provides inside information and pre-performance family fun activities, including interactive opera games. This Take a Child to the Opera package starts at 11:30 a.m. You may bring your own lunch to picnic before the performance. Call the Box Office at 303-292-6700 for more information, including ticketing.
