The sixth annual Boulder Ciclovia is part of the city’s Green Streets initiative and a larger international movement that fosters community health, well-being and sustainability by turning streets from vehicle to human use for a day. On Sunday, September 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., a route along 15th Street linking the east end of Pearl Street in downtown Boulder with the North Boulder Recreation Center is closed to vehicular traffic but open to people on bikes, rollerblades, skateboards and foot. There some 10 fun-filled activity zones that encourage participants to engage with the Boulder community and more than 50 FREE activities, classes and entertainment. These include a slow bike “race,” kids’ bike rodeo, outdoor adventure activities, climbing wall, yoga, fitness, eco-fashion, art, live music, dance, open house at fire stations and more for the whole family. The Rec Center (3170 Broadway) offers FREE admission all day long. For more information, call Boulder Green Streets at 720-722-2314.
