What’s the story? How about a tale of a nonprofit trying to set a world record for “Longest Continuous Storytelling Event”? Spellbinders, an award-winning storytelling organization, hosts a FREE Storytelling Extravaganza for 25 hours, in anticipation of setting a world record. Passionate, engaging and vibrant volunteers will tell stories in the oral tradition for 25 hours beginning Friday, October 2 at 4:25 p.m. until Saturday, October 3 at 5:25 p.m. The storyteller’s stage is at Wynkoop Plaza at Denver Union Station and will move indoors at twilight until Saturday morning at sunrise. Then, the action moves back onto the Plaza, with storytelling continuing until 5:25 p.m. The first 40 kids, aged 6 to 10 years old, who arrive by 4 pm. and are willing to stand on stage for the 30-minute kick-off and hear the first story told, receive a FREE Spellbinders t-shirt. Spellbinders mission is to advance literacy, recruit volunteers and have fun! Bring, friends, family, pets and everyone who loves a story! Who knows? You could be a part of world record history.
