The best way to start your day is with savings! Every Wednesday in April, Chick-fil-A is serving up a FREE breakfast entrée from 6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at participating locations in the Denver metro area. Mark your calendar (or set reminders on your smartphone) for April
5, 12, 19 and 26.
On Wednesdays, each location will offer a FREE breakfast entrée “of the restaurant’s choice.” As a result, the item will vary by location each week. The morning freebie is valid in-restaurant and at the drive-thru. No purchase necessary. Limit one per person, per visit. There are more than 20 locations in the Denver metro area.
Gardeners are sure to dig this freebie! Need some grounds for your grounds? Have you ever wondered what Starbucks does with its used coffee grounds? Well, they just give ’em away for FREE. Participating cafés bag ’em up for customers in need of fertilizer for their gardens. It can also be added to compost piles. We’ve noticed they’re usually in a large basket or bucket near the register or by the front door. Just be sure to verify the sign first or you may walk out with a bag of coffee beans by accident and find yourself in really hot water. If you’re unsure, just ask a friendly barista for help.
With the weather heating up, we’ll all be using more ice — whether it’s for drinks at home or filling the cooler for a family adventure. Once the ice from the freezer is depleted (or for those without an ice maker, like me), you have to go buy a few bags of ice. Of course, you’ll want to find the hottest price in town. And what’s more convenient than heading to a McDonald’s drive-thru?
The fast-food restaurant sells an 8-pound bag of ice for just 99¢ at participating locations. (Note: The price varies by location, up to $1.49 — still a cool deal! Some locations might be slightly higher.) As a true cheapskate, I keep a small cooler in the car with bottled water and Diet Coke on hot days, when running errands all day. (Did you really think I’d pay $2 for a bottle of water or soda? No way!) Plus, it works for keeping perishable items cold from the grocery store, so I don’t have to rush back home. I just bring along a few Ziploc bags to keep the items from getting wet.
Global Goods and Coffee (5613 Olde Wadsworth Blvd.) in Arvada is celebrating its 4th anniversary. The non-profit coffee shop is giving away FREE brewed coffee (8-oz.) all day, every day — all month long in April. There is a limit of one cup per person, per visit, so you could get a complimentary cup every day through April 30. The shop is open Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and closed on Sundays. Global Goods & Coffee was founded by the non-profit organization Global Refuge. The shop helps to sustain Global Refuge’s projects with its twofold nature: coffee and global goods.
Good Times Burgers & Frozen Custardis celebrating the warmer weather with its newest menu item, the West Coast Double Burger. The burger is being offered at a limited-time value price of $3. If you’re really hungry, enjoy a double combo (with a side of fries and a drink) for $5. Did you know the restaurant was founded in 1987 in Boulder? There are now 35 locations in Colorado.
Looking to save some extra “dough”? It’s not often Panera Bread offers any discounts, so that makes this weekly deal extra tasty. Every Tuesday, get a baker’s dozen of bagels (13 total) for $6.99 (reg. $9.99) at participating locations. Like its breads, the bakery offers a variety of sourdough-based bagels made from its own recipes and baked fresh daily using only unbleached flour. There are more than 20 locations throughout Colorado.
There’s something fishy about this deal…really! Rubio’s Coastal Grill claims to be the restaurant that “introduced America to the fish taco” back in 1983. The hand-battered wild Alaskan Pollock topped with fresh cabbage, mild salsa and white sauce (all on a stone-ground corn or thick flour tortilla and garnished with a slice of lime) has become the quick-service restaurant’s signature item. Every Tuesday, the chain offers its Original Fish Taco for only $1.75 (reg. $3.29.) They also offer its Fish Taco Especial (on Tuesdays) for $2 (reg. $3.69.) What’s the Fish Taco Especial? The Original Fish Taco topped with handmade guacamole, a blend of cheeses and a cilantro/onion mix — served on a warm corn tortilla and garnished with a slice of lime. The deal is only valid after 2:30 p.m. To get your hooks on this deal, sail over to one of its four Colorado locations – Aurora, Broomfield, Highlands Ranch and Lakewood. There’s a Littleton location opening on April 13.
The $20 FIKA Passport is back. This caffeine-loaded spin on the popular spirits passport offers a 2-for-1 coffee special at each of two dozen participating Denver coffee shops through July 31. This is a shorter timeframe than during the inaugural year, but dedicated coffee drinkers will have no trouble getting all of the twofers. At each shop, the guest presents his or her FIKA Passport to the barista who stamps the booklet. So what is FIKA? It is a Swedish concept of a coffee break that provides an opportunity to recharge, either to be alone with your thoughts or to meet friends. This program invites Denverites to slow down and take a minute for themselves. A limited quantity of passport booklets is available, so now’s the time to order here or purchase at one of the participating locations. [Read more…] about Two-for-One Coffee Passport Returns
If you missed picking up a 2017 Chick-fil-A calendar, you’re in luck. And it’s now even a better deal. The Chick-fil-A in Lakewood (14730 W. Colfax Ave.) is selling its remaining calendars at 50% off — just $3.50 each (reg. $7), plus tax. (The restaurant is located next to Colorado Mills.) Yes, you’ve missed the first 3 months, but there are still 9 months of FREE food. To review the remaining monthly offers, click here. The discounted calendars are available, while supplies last. If there’s any confusion, ask to speak to a manager. (On my first attempt to buy a few, the young man at the register was unaware of the sale and turned me away.) The offer was announced via its Twitter account and Facebook page. As far as I know, this is the only location selling discounted calendars. If you know of another location, please let other readers know by commenting below.
