This appetizing promo is back! I find the deal quite delicious for the variety of food and savings. TGI Friday’s is serving an endless supply of some of its most popular appetizers for just $10 per person at participating locations. Choose from fried pickles, meatballs, boneless wings (all flavors), pan-seared pot stickers, mozzarella sticks, loaded potato skins and BBQ chicken flatbread. After enjoying your first order, receive unlimited reorders of any of the listed appetizers. The appetizers are endless and so is the promo itself. The offer is now a permanent fixture on the menu. At this price, you might skip an entrée and just indulge on an all-appetizer lunch or dinner. (Sorry, no take-home bags!) There are 4 locations in Colorado – Aurora, Denver, Longmont and Thornton.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is celebrating the 92nd birthday of its co-founder, namesake and decorated World War II Veteran, Freddy Simon, with a sweet treat for customers. Through Saturday, February 26, customers can get a single-scoop of the restaurant’s signature chocolate or vanilla frozen custard (served in a cake cone or dish) for just 92¢ at participating locations. Toppings and/or a waffle cone are available at an additional cost. The restaurant is open Sunday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday & Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. There are 19 locations in Colorado — click here for addresses. (Two more are expected to open in Grand Junction soon.)
They have the meats…and savings! Arby’s is offering a deal on some its most popular menu items. For a limited time, get a Beef ‘n Cheddar Classic sandwich, Classic Roast Beef sandwich, Crispy Fish sandwich or Loaded Curly Fries for 2 for $5 at participating locations. Get two of the same or mix & match. The savings are in the bag, given some of the sandwiches are around $4 alone. (You must buy two items, to get the discounted price.) If you’re dining alone, save the second sandwich for dinner or lunch the next day. (Although, the second sandwich could also be a midnight snack, right?) A quick spin in the microwave and it’s just as tasty.
For a limited time, Starbucks is offering a combo deal to get your day started. For $5, get a Grande size hot brewed coffee and a Bacon Gouda or Sausage, Cheddar & Egg breakfast sandwich at participating locations. (There are no substitutions and Clover-brewed coffees are excluded.) You must purchase both items in a single transaction to get the savings. Even better, the breakfast sandwiches are available all day, so you can take advantage of the offer morning, noon or night — while supplies last. For your reference, each sandwich is regularly about $4. (I always like to know regular prices, so I can determine whether or not I’m really getting a deal. I hope you do, too.)
Nowadays, there are many advantages to becoming a “senior citizen”, but the one bargain hunters appreciate the most are the discounts offered by many retailers and restaurants. We’ve rounded up a few deals around town for the “older crowd.” [Read more…] about Senior Deals and Discounts in Denver
Hamburger Stand has a hot deal for those who love their food spicy. For a limited time, every Sunday and Monday, the fast-food joint is serving up its Chili Lovers’ Deal for just $4.99 at participating locations. The meal combo includes a chili cheese dog, chili cheeseburger and chili cheese fries. (With all that heat, you’d think the deal would include a beverage. Unfortunately, it does not.) A beverage will cost you extra. It’s enough food that you might share it with a friend — one gets the dog, the other gets the burger and you can share the fries! There are 6 locations in Colorado — Aurora, Denver, Englewood, Lakewood, Thornton and Westminster.

SUBWAY always offers a fresh sub at a good value. However, the savings are even more meaty with its latest offer. For a limited time, get any Footlong for just $6 each at participating locations. (The offer excludes Deluxe Footlongs.) There is an additional charge for any extras. The offer cannot be combined with any other discount or coupon. I always love the good ol’ reliable Cold Cut Combo with lots of jalapeños and onions!
I’m always “in the market” for saving a few bucks, when dining out. (Actually, I never dine out without a coupon or promo. With so many offers out there, there’s no reason to ever pay full price.) Through March 26, Boston Market is offering a 2 for $20 Meal Deal. The delicious offer includes two Individual Meals, two drinks and two desserts for only $20. Each Individual Meal comes with a main course option, including rotisserie chicken, turkey or meatloaf, two classic sides and a freshly baked piece of cornbread. (If you’re dining alone, they’re also offering a 1 for $10 Meal Deal — an Individual Meal, drink and dessert for $10.) For locations, click here.
Word is, menus for Denver Restaurant Week are expected to launch on Wednesday, January 25. The annual celebration of all things food runs Friday, February 24 to Sunday, March 5. More than 150 restaurants are participating. Each offers a multi-course dinner (usually three courses) for a “mile high” fixed price, plus tax, tip and beverages. New for 2017: There’s a tiered price structure. Restaurants can offer a $25, $35 or $45 per person menu. That means you should find fewer restaurants offering optional popular dishes for an up-charge (which was kind of annoying). And the $25 is the lowest ever, with the hope that some less pricey restaurants will now participate instead of trying to stretch to reach the previous $30 per person price point.
The fun of this food fest is checking out all the menus and then nabbing a spot at that restaurant you have always wanted to try, but couldn’t afford or hadn’t gotten too yet. Many of the city’s hottest spots are on the list, as well as many neighborhood bistros. And note that “Denver” in this case stretches from Longmont to Littleton. MHOTC Tip: Make your reservations through OpenTable.com and collect 100 points every time you dine. Points can be converted into gift certificates good at any OpenTable restaurant.
Headed into the mountain for some fun? Enjoy! But know that thousands of your not-so-closest friends are planning to do the same on any given weekend or holiday, creating bumper-to-bumper-to-bumper traffic. That’s why the Colorado Department of Transportation has teamed with I-70 corridor businesses and communities to get you off the highway during peak times. Check out GoI70.com, which lists real-time road info, travel forecasts and, of course our favorite, deals and discounts during high traffic periods. The idea is that these specials will encourage you to stick around ski country a bit longer or pull off at some of the major exits to lessen traffic. We explored the site and found $2 off admission to the Silverthorne Recreation Center, a $5 ski wax, 50% off ski and board rentals and discounts on lodging, dining, shopping and entertainment in Silverthorne, Dillon, Breckenridge, Winter Park and more. Almost all the deals are for Saturday and Sunday only, typically after 4 p.m.
After publishing our downloadable list of Kids Eat Free deals, we received a number of requests for a list of senior discounts. As Bryan has pointed out in his recent column on Senior Deals: Are They Worth It?, discounts for older adults are difficult to compile and maintain because rarely do chain restaurants, especially of the fast-food variety, offer them on a consistent basis (some restaurant owners opt-in, others choose not to participate and often employees are unaware of policy). However, we take your request seriously. Obviously with the hundreds of restaurants, cafes, bakeries and others across the Front Range, it would be impossible for us to create a comprehensive list. But we are willing to craft a page listing the best or most consistent spots to find serious senior savings.
To do so, we need your help. If you know of any local, independent spots and/or chain restaurants that offer a senior deal and/or senior menu, please send us an email with as many details as possible. Include the name of the restaurant, location (if it is a stand-alone and not a chain), and the specific deal or if there is a senior menu.
Be our eyes and ears. Ask questions — such as the age requirement, days of the week it is available and is this deal policy or just because the clerk behind the counter likes you — the next time you get the freebie. We’re picky at MHOTC and verify everything before we post it on our site. This might take us some time, so please be patient. Send your suggestions to email@example.com. Thanks!
Mmm…it’s Wednesday! For a limited time, KFC is offering a Chicken Fried Steak Meal for $3.99 every Wednesday at participating locations. The meal deal includes chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes (with gravy), coleslaw and a buttermilk biscuit. Most locations will let you substitute the mashed potatoes and coleslaw with different sides — just ask.
