BOGO Movie Tickets

Admission TicketsFandango, which bills itself as “the ultimate movie ticketing destination,” is again offering two-for-one movie tickets for purchases made with a Visa Signature card. You’ll need to enter the first six digits of your card number to determine whether you are eligible (though the implications is that all Visa card holders are eligible) and your zip code to find nearby theaters. You must buy at least two tickets for the same showing at a Fandango partner theater. According to the fine print, a cardholder is eligible for one BOGO offer per month, and a “convenience fee” will be added to the price. Note: This offer is somewhat of a moving target. One day you may find plenty of options, the next the site reports it has exceeded its allotment and nothing is available. So if you click through and find the “Sold Out” sign wait a few days and check in again. Our guess is as some films “cool down” from opening week frenzy more tickets are added to the pool.

FYI – they only offer a certain number of total tickets per month for this offer, and once they are all sold you have to wait till the following month to try again. They are already out for the month of January, so I couldnt take advantage of this. :(

How much is the convenience fee?

  • admin

We are trying to find out from Fandango whether the fee is the same for all shows or whether it varies. We’ll let you know as soon as we hear from them.

Cindy – We got the answer for you and for everyone. Fandango says, “The fees vary by theater location and format of film, but the average fee for a ‘standard’ film is $1 and for a 3D or IMAX film it’s $2.” We’ll add this info to next month’s post. Thank you for asking.

These theaters offer a daily unadvertised special. If you choose the showtime before 6:00 p.m. (its one time per movie per day) the movie is $5.50 per person. Example: If the movie is showing at 12:45 p.m. 3:00 p.m. and 5:15 p.m., only the 5:15 is discounted. It is always the last time that starts before 6.
